Cadence Environmental
Business Descriptions
Founded in 1975 by chemical engineer Ted J. Reese, Cadence Environmental introduced a technology that would allow liquid industrial waste to be used as an alternative energy source in cement kilns and blast furnaces. Mr. Reese trademarked this revolutionary new waste fuel Chem-Fuel® and began providing energy to cement manufacturing company Ash Grove Cement Company. By using Chem-Fuel®, Ash Grove conserves over 125,000 tons of coal annually and has conserved more than 3 million tons of coal since Cadence began supplying Ash Grove alternative fuels.
Sapphire North America, an affiliate of Ash Grove, and a subsidiary of CRH is a North American provider of sustainable waste solutions that help any waste generator to achieve zero landfill goals. Sapphire approached Cadence Environmental to pursue a synergistic acquisition of the business and have Cadence join the CRH family of companies. Mr. Reese then retained Legacy Capital to lead and manage the negotiations. Legacy Capital was able to attain a solution which not only met the needs of the owners but provided an excellent opportunity for employees and solidified the future of the company.
